Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information I collect when you register for a class or get in touch, why I collect it, and the choices you have over it.

Last updated · August 2026

01Who this policy covers

This website is run by Nitya Neelakantan, an independent yoga teacher, Learning & Development consultant, coach and author based in Bengaluru, India. Throughout this policy, "I" and "my" refer to Nitya Neelakantan, and "you" refers to anyone using this website or registering for a class, programme or session.

By using this site or submitting a registration form, you agree to the practices described here.

02What I collect

I only collect what I actually need in order to teach you safely and stay in touch.

  • Identity and contact details — your name, date of birth, age, gender (optional), email address, mobile number, city and country, and occupation (optional).
  • Health information — medical conditions, injuries, surgeries, pregnancy, medication and related details you choose to share on the registration and health declaration form.
  • Practice background — your experience, goals, and the styles or techniques you have practised before.
  • For children's classes — the parent or guardian's details along with the child's name, age, school grade and any relevant health or developmental information.
  • Correspondence — anything you write to me by email, WhatsApp or through this website.

I do not collect payment card details through this website, and I do not run advertising trackers or third-party analytics profiling on it.

03Health information — special care

Health details are sensitive, and I treat them that way. I ask for them for one reason only: so that I can adapt your practice, avoid postures or breathing techniques that could harm you, and know what to do in an emergency.

  • I collect health information only with your explicit consent, given by ticking the declaration on the registration form.
  • It is used solely for planning and delivering your practice — never for marketing.
  • It is not shared with any third party unless you ask me to, or unless I am required to by law or in a medical emergency.
  • You can ask me to update or delete it at any time.

04How I use your information

  • To plan sessions that are appropriate and safe for you.
  • To respond to your enquiry and confirm your place in a class or programme.
  • To send you class schedules, timing changes and programme updates.
  • To keep basic records of who has attended which programme.

I will not sell, rent or trade your information to anyone. I will not add you to a marketing list you did not ask to join.

05How the form works

This website is a static site with no database behind it. When you submit the registration form, your answers are assembled into an email that opens in your own email application, which you then send to me. Nothing is stored on this website, and no data is transmitted to a server as you type.

This means your information reaches me through your own email provider and is then held in my email account and my own records.

06Storage and retention

Your details are stored in my email account and in my personal teaching records, protected by passwords and the security measures provided by those services.

  • Registration and health records are kept for as long as you are practising with me, and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you return.
  • If you ask me to delete your information, I will do so unless I am legally required to keep it.
  • No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so while I take reasonable care, I cannot guarantee absolute security.

07Your rights and choices

You can, at any time:

  • Ask what information I hold about you.
  • Ask me to correct anything that is wrong or out of date.
  • Ask me to delete your information.
  • Withdraw your consent, including consent to receive class updates — this will not affect anything done before you withdrew it.
  • Ask me to stop contacting you altogether.

Just write to me at Nitya.neel@gmail.com and I will act on it as quickly as I reasonably can.

08Children

Registrations for children's yoga must be completed by a parent or legal guardian, who provides consent on the child's behalf. I do not knowingly collect information directly from children. If you believe a child has submitted information without a guardian's involvement, please contact me and I will remove it.

09Cookies and other websites

This website does not set advertising or tracking cookies. It loads fonts from Google Fonts and, on some pages, images hosted by external providers — those services may log basic technical data such as your IP address as part of delivering the file.

This site links to external platforms including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X and Amazon. Once you follow those links, their own privacy policies apply, not this one.

10Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time as my practice changes. The date at the top of this page always shows when it was last revised. Significant changes will be reflected here, so it is worth glancing at this page again when you re-register.

11Contact me

If you have a question about this policy, or want to exercise any of the rights above, please write to me:

I read every message myself and will reply personally.

Please note: this policy is written in plain language to describe how information is actually handled on this website. It is not legal advice, and it should be reviewed by a qualified professional before you rely on it for compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, GDPR or any other regulation that applies to you.
